Fitness Classes – The Lawson Park Board offers affordable fitness classes. Gentle Yoga is held on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. This class focuses on increasing flexibility, easy strength building and balance. It is ideal for those seeking a slower-paced, but somewhat challenging, class. Each class typically includes breath work, gentle warm-up stretches, a balance practice, a gentle Vinyasa-style flow and relaxation at the end. Stretch & Rest Yoga is on Wednesdays at 8:30am. This class combines the long, gentle stretches of Yin-style yoga with the relaxing poses of restorative-style yoga. Students will utilize props to assist with the poses. The class focuses on flexibility, breath work and mindfulness. It is ideal for those new to yoga and anyone looking to relax and restore. All classes are $5 for drop-in or $20 for a 5-class punch card, payable with cash only. They are held in the Lawson City Hall Community Room. For more information or questions, please contact Tosha at 816-580-3217.

In 2025, we had 36 sponsors give more than $20,000 which helped fund every single program and event we hosted throughout the year! Without the generous support of these sponsors, none of these programs would have been possible. #togetherwecan

We are now accepting sponsorships for 2026. If you would like to support the Park Board AND get some pretty amazing recognition for doing so, learn more here: tinyurl.com/ParkBoard2026 (Deadline is April 10, 2026) #LawsonisAwesome
