Park Board
The Lawson Park Board provides park facilities and programs to accommodate the needs and interests of residents and visitors. Whether you are into sports, nature or just want to take your children to the playground, Lawson is the place for you. Having fun, meeting your neighbors and making new friends is what living in Lawson is all about.
The Lawson Park Board is responsible for a variety of recreational programs and events throughout the year, such as:
• Lawson Lake 5K
• Lawson Picnic
• Fitness Classes (see below)
• Lawson Youth Sports Association (LYSA)
• Movies in the Park
• Story Time in the Park
• Art in the Park
• Science in the Park
• Move-It Mondays
• Fall Festival

The City of Lawson’s park facilities are available to groups and citizens to reserve for family gatherings, group parties, picnics, meetings, or other events. Park reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis and a fee may be required. For additional information or to see if a specific date is available, contact Lawson City Hall.
The Lawson Park Board hosts 3 fitness classes per week. Silver Seniors Yoga is held on Tuesdays at 8:30am. This chair-based class is great for older adults, and is offered at a discounted rate of $4 per class or $15 for a 5-class punch card. Stretch & Rest Yoga is held on Wednesdays at 8:30am, while Gentle Yoga is held on Thursdays at 6:30pm. Classes are $5 per class (drop-in rate) or $20 for a 5-class pass (available at each class with cash/check). All classes are held at the Lakeview Event Center.

The Lawson City Park is located in the center of town at Pennsylvania and Third Street. This park features a playground, World War 1 Memorial Band Stand, the new Splash Pad, the Rotary Club of Lawson shelter house, a basketball court, picnic tables, a fire pit, concession stand and stage.
The Lakeview Campground and RV Park features a new playground including ADA swings that is open to the public.
The City Lake complex is a 111-acre area that is also open to the public. Features include a walking trail, fishing, kayak dock, disc golf course and more. More info on the lake complex here.
