The City of Lawson Animal Services’ department provides the following assistance to all residents and is dedicated to helping protect the health, safety and welfare of both people and animals in our community.
- Responding to stray animal complaints
- Investigating dangerous animals
- Barking dog complaints
- Ordinance enforcement
Each Resident is allowed a maximum of 4 pets. ie. 4 dogs OR 4 cats OR a combination to remain in the limit of 4.
City Tags are required on all pets. The tags can be purchased at City Hall for $1.25 each. A current certificate of vaccination must be provided at time of purchasing the tags.
The City of Lawson emergency services is prepared 24/7 to preserve life and minimize damage, respond to hazards or disaster events by providing the necessary assistance and emergency support functions as well as establish a recovery system that will return the community to its normal state of affairs.
Throughout the year, the City of Lawson EMS engage in community awareness and prevention programs to help the community avoid, detect, and report emergencies effectively.

The City of Lawson, MO is a member of the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program, a service coordinated by the MARC Solid Waste Management District.
Residents have year-round access to the safe disposal of unwanted products such as paint, lawn and garden chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, florescent bulbs and housecleaners. Business waste is not accepted.
Residents can access the permanent facilities in Lee’s Summit and Kansas City and also can attend any of the mobile events scheduled April through October. Click here for a current flyer.
